James Allen LaLonde

James ""Jim"" A. LaLonde, age 59, a resident of St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted, formerly from Litchfield and Stacy, passed away on September 21, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with a visitation one hour prior to the church. Jim was born at the Litchfield Hospital on June 10, 1956 to Fred and Mildred (Simons) LaLonde. He was baptized, received his First Holy Communion, and was confirmed at St. Philips Catholic Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1974. Jim loved hockey and golf and played on the Litchfield High School teams. He loved the outdoors and spent time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed his time spent at the family cabin in northern Minnesota, and would often take camping and fishing trips with friends into the Boundary Waters around Ely, Minnesota. The North Shore along Lake Superior was another place he would visit. Jim worked as a security guard at Abbott Northwestern Hospital for many years. He was proud of his work and made some good friends while there. Jim is survived by his mother Mildred LaLonde, sisters Debbie LaLonde (life partner Scott Bjerva) of Eagan, Minnesota and Brenda (Gregg) Popp of Hutchinson, Minnesota, brother Fred (Robin) LaLonde of Litchfield. He is also survived by nieces Laura (Josh) Stussy, Sarah (Jon) Skoog, Michelle (Denny Schwarzbauer) LaLonde, Rachael (fiancé Dan Gemuenden) Popp, and several grand nephews, a grand niece, aunts and uncles. Jim was preceded in death by his father Fred LaLonde of Litchfield, Minnesota, his maternal and fraternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles and two cousins. Jim was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by his family.
