James “Jimbo” M. Anderson II, age 63 of Litchfield died on Friday November 29, 2024 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday December 6, 2024 at the Darwin Rod and Gun Club in Darwin, MN.
James “Jimbo” Matthew Anderson II was born on June 23rd, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN to James and Irene (Moberg) Anderson.
In 1968, the family moved to Lake Stella in Darwin, MN. There he enjoyed his time on the water- whether it be barefoot water skiing, one foot water skiing, or fishing his limit (for you and me).
Jimbo graduated from Litchfield High School in 1979. He was wed to Mary Jean ‘Nething’ in 1987. From that union they had three beautiful daughters, that were Jim’s entire world- Brittany, Tiffany and Hillary. Who were always referred to as “the girls.”
Jimbo worked as a certified welder, and later in life as a cook. He enjoyed fishing, the Minnesota Vikings, the Wild, and the water. But his world revolved around his family and friends. His daughters and grandchildren were able to make him smile like no other.
He could make a room light up with his quick witt and humor. You could often hear him saying, “I'll tell the jokes around here.” His fun one liners will stick with us all- sometimes he was “so busy all the shag carpet is the same length.” But was always “finer then frog hair.” We are forever blessed by his love and joy he shared with us all. But we will always be brought to peace that he is no longer in pain. Jimbo will watch over us all and be the best guardian angel.
Although he had many health struggles through the years, he never gave up. He was a fighter- he fought the battles that came his way. He fought with grace, humor and continued a positive attitude through it all. And always reminded us, “this is just another speed bump along the way, it’ll be okay.”
Jimbo would not want us to grieve his loss, but to live our life to the fullest- thinking of him every step of the way. He will be in every laugh we have, joke we tell, and smile we share.
He is survived by his daughters Brittany (Josh) Carlson, Tiffany (Julian) Picard and Hillary (Andrew) Pautzke; grandchildren - Jacie, Thor, Hayes, Gunner, Ryatt, Hattie, and Lennie- siblings - Mary Steenrod, Sue (Wayne) Elam and brother-in-law Gary Hawes (Christine), and many nieces and nephews. Jimbo is preceded in death by his parents, sister Christine, and brother-in-law Philip.
