Jacqueline J. Swanson, age 90, of Litchfield, MN died on Monday September 11, 2017 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN. Visitation is at 9:00 AM followed by the 10:00 AM memorial service on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Ostmark Lutheran Church in rural Watkins, MN. Interment will be held in Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN.
Jacqueline Jaye Swanson, the daughter of Lewis and Edith (Nelson) Coleman was born on March 11, 1927 in Dassel, MN. She graduated from Benson High School in 1944 and continued her education learning teletyping in St. Paul, MN. She was united in marriage to Douglas Clark Wilson in Grand Rapids, MN and later to Don Swanson in Litchfield, MN on July 3, 1970. Throughout her life, Jackie lived in Benson, MN, Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA, Cordova, AK, Ortonville, MN and Litchfield, MN since 1952. Jackie worked for Western Union in Chicago, KLFD Radio, Sears and Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, and was also a waitress. She was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, being a volunteer grandparent at Wagner School playing cards, bowling, golfing and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Pamela (Dean) Croft of Buffalo, MN, Douglas (Mary June) Wilson of Louisville, KY, Darrel (Diana) Wilson of Sartell, MN, Jamie (Virgil) Wiechmann of Litchfield, MN, Michael (Cheryl) Swanson of Darwin, MN and Dawn Swanson of Richfield, MN; grandchildren Bryan Croft, Paul Croft, Rebecca (Adam) McGrane, Jonathon Wilson, Erica (Tony) Stapek, Kara (Tony) Rogers, Daniel (Molly) Wiechmann, Matthew (Emily) Wiechmann, Megan Wiechmann, Holly (Brett) Dolliver, Lucas (Carissa) Swanson, and Blake Swanson; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and brothers Dean (Carman) Coleman of Fridley, MN and James Coleman of Bristol, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don Swanson; parents Lewis and Edith; daughter Roxanne Wilson in 1969; brothers Loren and Darrel; and sisters Sharon Lewis and Mary Lou Klipstein.
