Iris Mae Raskie

Iris M. Raskie, age 68, of Litchfield, MN, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley cemetery. Iris Mae Raskie, the daughter of Frank and Josie (Walker) Rutkowski, was born on October 28, 1944 in Moorhead, Minnesota. She received her education in Litchfield. Iris was united in marriage to Gerald Raskie in Litchfield on May 19, 1961. Iris provided day care for 19 years and then worked various jobs before she started working in quality control at Innovex for many years. She was a member of Litchfield United Methodist Church, the TOPS 950 group and was a life member of the VFW auxiliary. Her love for the outdoors was enjoyed through camping, fishing and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed playing cards, travelling and going to the casino. She will be missed by her loving family and will be remembered for her independent determination and easy going spirit. She is survived by her children, John (and Mary) Raskie of Litchfield, MN, Joey (and Paula) Raskie of Katy, TX, Jeffrey Raskie of Kansas City, KS, Joan Raskie of Willmar, MN and James (and Anne) Raskie of Maple Grove, MN; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; mother Josie Hansen of Litchfield, sisters, Lylie Miller (and fiance Darwin Koll) of Darwin and Judy (and Ted) Fruth of Coon Rapids. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her fathers Frank Rutkowski and James L. Hansen, husband Gerald Raskie, and brother, Perry Rutkowski.
