Ina Bernice Johnson

Ina B. Johnson, age 83, of Litchfield, MN died on May 13, 2015 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home, after a extremely short illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Hector Village Cemetery in Hector, MN. Ina Bernice Johnson, the daughter of George and Bernice (Lovering) Dascher was born on December 18, 1931 in Buffalo Lake, MN. She was baptized on July 31, 1932. Ina was united in marriage to Marvin Willhite on June 15, 1951 and was later united in marriage to Calvin Johnson on September 19, 1975. Ina taught second grade in Hector, MN during the 1950s, was a cook at the Bethany Nursing Home in Litchfield and worked at the Litchfield Public Library for eight years before retiring. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church where she served on church committees. She was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries. Ina enjoyed driving for the Meeker County Council on Aging and being a foster grandma at the Lake Ripley Elementary School in Litchfield. She is survived by her children Douglas Willhite of Olivia, MN, Colleen Willhite of Scottsdale, AZ, Gail Hansen of Braggs, OK, Karen Anglin of Alvin, TX, and Curtis Willhite of Richfield, MN; 7 grandchildren; sister-in-law Inez Dascher and several nieces and nephews.
