Henry 'Hank' F. Quinn

Henry ""Hank"" F. Quinn, age 99, died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Darwin, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Darwin, MN. Arrangements by Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN. Henry ""Hank"" Francis Quinn, the son of Andrew Coleman and Theresa [Courtney] Quinn. Henry was born on November 1, 1913 in St. Paul, MN. He grew up in Harvey Township and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1932. On May 20, 1936, he married Theresa [Tress] Casey and together they farmed in Meeker County and raised eight children. They moved off the farm in 1963 and Henry owned the Sinclair station in Darwin before becoming a truck driver for the Darwin Grain Elevator. He also drove for JELCO of Dassel and Severt Manufacturing of Litchfield until his retirement. Hank belonged to the Church of St. Philip until he moved to Darwin where they became members of St. John's Catholic Church. Henry was a long time member of the Knight's of Columbus and at the time of his death was the oldest living past Grand Knight of the P.J. Casey Council of the Knight's of Columbus. He was a past President of the Darwin Community Club and was very proud of his involvement in bringing the ""Twine Ball"" Into Darwin. He loved to fish, both Summer and Winter, and spent many hours fishing with Reno Lindell, Dick Maahs, and Ben Kelly. He did not take up golf until late in life but loved it dearly. He is survived by seven of his children, James and Nita Quinn, Mary Ellen & Tom Johnson, Daughter-in-law Rosie Quinn, Dennis & Deborah Quinn, Susan Honeycutt, Tim & Janie Quinn, Catherine & Dan Leppa, and Theresa Quinn; Twenty one Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Tress; Two brothers Arthur Quinn and Andrew Quinn and six sisters, Grace Christenson, Tess McCann, Marguerite Christenson, Esther Wheeler, Mary Schoenecker, and Dorothy Connoy; one son, Michael Quinn; and one grandson: Henry F. Quinn II.
