Hazel L. Ringaman, age 81, of Litchfield died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastors Harvey Nelson and Christian Muellerleile officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Lake Ripley Cemetery.
Hazel Lois Ringaman, the daughter of George and Edith (Pankake) Long, was born on July 11, 1928 in Rockcreek Township, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to James Ringaman on June 14, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona. While James was in the Navy, they lived in San Diego, California before moving to Litchfield in 1949 where she has lived since. She worked at Fingerhut and then as a dining aid at Augustana Homes for 12 years. Hazel was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and actively involved in church activities such as Sewing Circle. She enjoyed gardening, handiwork, knitting and reading and especially enjoyed time with friends and family.
She is survived by her children; Randall (and Joanne) Ringaman of Vadnais Heights, Linda (and Gregg) Berggren of Litchfield, David Ringaman of Zimmerman and Cindy (and Keith) Fortun of Litchfield, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, cousins Dianne Geier and Lowell Pankake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Gilbert Long and sister Katherine Fields.
