Harvey Alfred Ziebarth the son of Alfred and Florence (Weber) Ziebarth was born on July 17, 1934 in Princeton, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Princeton. He grew up and received his education in Princeton, graduating from high school in 1952. Harvey was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Wallin in Cambridge, Minnesota on September 12, 1959. They made their home in St. Paul before moving here to Litchfield in 1960. Harvey worked for several companies including Schwartzwald Motors, Kittelson Brothers, Litchfield Lumber and for various farmers including working on his own farm. He was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Harvey had many interests. Deer hunting, watching and observing deer were among the most important. He loved telling stories of deer hunting up in the big woods up North. He was an avid fisherman for many years and always wanted to know the fishing report and if they were biting. He was on a bowling team for many years and was a pretty good bowler, until his hip bothered him too much. If there was an auction going on he was there buying old petroleum items, gas engines, Cub Cadet tractors and anything he thought was a good deal. He played cards, cribbage, and was always working on a crossword puzzle or suduko. He liked watching sports and was especially interested in the high school teams. These are just a few of the things that made Harvey who he was. Oh yes, one final thing, he was also quite stubborn.
Harvey is survived by his wife Norma Jean of Litchfield, MN, children, Brian (and Jenni) Ziebarth of St. Louis, MO, Kevin Ziebarth of Litchfield, MN, Brenda Nelson of New London, MN, Myra Elam of St. Cloud, MN, Allan (Jennifer) Ziebarth of Hoffman Estates, IL and son-in-law Mike Nelson of New London. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and brother Orville (and Renee) Ziebarth of Mankato, MN and brother-in-law Robert Bilyeu of Redding, CA besides other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Violet Bilyeu. Please sign our on-line guest book at www.johnsonhagglund.com Previous Events
