Harold G. Swanger

Harold G. Swanger, age 88, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Harold Gordon Swanger, the son of Bester and Matie (Kaddatz) Swanger, was born on June 3, 1924, in Minneapolis, MN. On June 21, 1946, he was united in marriage to Shirley Thompson in Litchfield. Throughout his life, Harold lived in Cosmos, Litchfield, and Minneapolis, before returning to Litchfield in 1982. Harold served our country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield, and a Life Member of the V.F.W.
