Harold “Snooky” Ross, age 77, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the St. Cloud VA Hospital. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, July 27th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home followed by interment in the Ripley Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard.
Harold Martin Ross, the son of Carl and Emma (Rathke) Ross, was born on March 14, 1941 in Litchfield, Mn. Harold was raised in Litchfield, where he attended and graduated from Litchfield High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and was a crew member in the AIR ANTI-SUBRON 24, before being Honorably Discharged. On October 3, 1964 he was united in marriage to Diane Vick, of Litchfield, MN. They lived in Litchfield and Stillwater before moving to Coon Rapids. They lived in Coon Rapids for 38 years before moving to Isanti, MN and finally settling in Cambridge, MN. Harold worked at Shriners Hospital (20 years), before bringing his talents to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, where he retired as a Facilities Manager, in 2008.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 1982 and VFW Post 6316. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going to his place up north, road tripping in his RV, hunting, fishing, grilling, listening to music and above all else, sharing his witty “Snooky-isms” with his loved ones.
He is survived by his children, Todd Ross (son) and Kim Golden of York, PA, Kim (daughter) and Tim Skog of Isanti, MN, Scott (son) and Karen Ross of Red Lion, PA, Pam Schultz (daughter) and Scott Watts of Andover, MN. He had 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Emma Ross, wife Diane and brother Robert Ross.
