Gordon "Gordy" Heuring, age 65, of Litchfield, died at his home in Litchfield, MN on Monday, July 21, 2008. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the Church of St. Philip with Father Joseph Steinbeisser as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, on Friday, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN, with a 7:30 PM prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Gordon Leander Heuring, the son of Leander and Monica (Becker) Heuring, was born on January 23, 1943 in Albertville, Minnesota. He attended St. Michael High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Sharon Hurkman on August 19, 1967 at St. Raphaels Church in Crystal, Minnesota. Gordy was Director of Pharmacy for 35 years at the Cambridge Hospital and Meeker County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Church of St. Philip. Gordy enjoyed gardening, exercise, sports and family always came first with him. He was cheerful, patient and had a quiet strength. Gordy is survived by his wife Sharon; children Tom (and Shawn) Heuring of Hurley, WI, Troy (and Jill) Heuring of Harris, MN, Brian Heuring of Litchfield, MN, Philip Heuring (and partner Reggie Aqui) of Atlanta, GA, and Alan of Minneapolis, MN; parents Leander and Monica Heuring of Albertville, MN; grandchildren Rick, Jordana, Zachary and Alex; and brothers Jerry (and Joan) Heuring of Princeton, MN and Rick (and Diane) Heuring of Elk River, MN. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Lynn Heuring.
