Gloria Jean Marie Nething

Gloria Jean Marie Nething, age 72, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Litchfield, MN as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until the 2:00 PM service at church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Gloria Jean Marie Nething, the eighth child of Lilliard and Hulda (Baumgart) Nething was born Septebmer 14, 1940 in Manannah, Meeker County, MN. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She worked with the Lutheran Girl Pioneers, often picking them up and providing food for their activities. She farmed with her mother from 1965 - 1976 when her mother passed away and continued farming until 1983. Gloria studied music at Dr. Martin Luther College and the University of Minnesota, and passed her love of music on to her family. She made many quilts, baby blankets, birthday cakes and special story books for her family and friends. Gloria is survived by her siblings, Beverly Nething, Janice Grimsgard, Dean Nething, Judith Hedrick, Sophie (Nething) Miller, Edward Nething and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
