Glenn ""Shorty"" W. Bulau age 82, of Litchfield died Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Ecumen of Litchfield, Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 30th, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastors Harvey Nelson and Christian Muellerleile officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Forest City Cemetery. Glenn ""Shorty"" William Bulau, the son of William and Louisa (Rath) Bulau, was born on April 9, 1928 in Renville County, Minnesota. After attending school, he helped his uncle on the mink farm, then worked for CA Kraft in Hutchinson, and Buffalo Lake Creamery for 14 years. Shorty was united in marriage to Janet Baumgarten on October 26, 1957 in Stewart, Minnesota. They moved to Forest City, Minnesota in 1965. Shorty was a creamery worker for 50 years, managing the Forest City Creamery for 33 of those years. After retirement, he started mowing for Eden Valley-Watkins School; a job he really enjoyed. He also helped maintain lawns at the fair grounds and the Forest City Town hall. Shorty was a member of the Meeker County Fair Board, District 16 Dairy Processors, Forest City Threshers and Stockade and of Zion Lutheran Church. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with people, watching his family's sporting events, going for coffee and spending time with friends and family especially grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Janet; children, Gail (and Julie) Bulau of Eden Valley, MN and Craig (and Cheryl) Bulau of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren, Cassie Bulau, Ty Bulau and Alexa Bulau; brothers, Kenny (and Carol) Bulau of Nevis, MN, Bill Bulau of Buffalo Lake, MN, Bob Bulau of Buffalo Lake, MN; sisters, Lucille (and Leonard) Haas of Buffalo Lake, MN, Irene (and Chuck) Yerks of Hutchinson, MN, Phyllis Dunphy of New Prague, MN and Mary (and Allyn) Taylor of Buffalo Lake, MN and Wendy (and Tom) Wicks of Stewart, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Wanda.Previous Events
