Gilbert Hanson (age 48) of Litchfield, died suddenly at his work, on October 18, 2012 in Willmar, MN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Cornerstone Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the Church and interment will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Francis, MN. Gilbert Hanson was born on June 16, 1964 to Raymond and Arline (Hansen) Hanson, in Grand Rapids, MN. He grew up in Crosby, MN, Deerwood, MN, Elk River, MN, and attended Crosby-Ironton High School. He continued his education and graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2005. 'Gil' was great at his profession and proud of it. He was a licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor for C.A.R.E. in Willmar, MN and New Beginnings in Waverly, MN. He chose a career that helped others improve their lives, as he was often told by clients later in public. He was a long-time AA member, enjoyed, golfing, cooking, playing games, camping with Julie's family and spending time with friends at their camper at Mille Lacs Lake. He was a proud Father, Grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dog Reba. Gil attended, loved and enjoyed the up-lifting worship at the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield. He will be remembered for his up-lifting personality that was full of wit, laughter, good natured teasing, extreme patience, consideration of other's needs and professionalism. He is survived by his mother, Arline Hanson in Princeton, MN; Beloved significant other, Julie Egge of Litchfield, MN; Sons, Devon (and Sarah) Hanson of St. Cloud, MN, Derrick Hanson of St. Cloud, MN, Darron Hanson of Upsala, MN and Donovan Hanson of Wadena, MN; Grandchildren, Connor, Antonio, Elizabeth and Bryant; Siblings, Lois and (Jim Downey) of Princeton, MN, Lori and (Calvin Bishop) of Whitehall, WI, Vera Hanson of Crosby, MN and Ronald Hanson of Whitehall, WI; Julie's children, Crystal Egge of St. Cloud, MN, Jon (and Shannon) Egge of Litchfield, MN, and Heather (and Chris Linquist) of Litchfield, MN, and Julie's Grandchildren, Cullin, Afton, Andi, Ariel, Jazmine and Kyria.
