Gerald Gengler

Gerald “Gerry” J. Gengler, age 82, of Litchfield died on Friday, December 4, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield with Pastor Christa Forsythe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Gerald Jerome Genlger, the son of Perry and Rosa (Niedermeier) Gengler, was born on October 27, 1927 in Litchfield. He grew up and attended school in Litchfield. Gerry served in the US Army during WWII as a medic. After his service he returned to Litchfield to help on the family farm where he lived until his passing. Gerry had a great sense of humor and enjoyed flying, traveling, high school sports and watching the ore ships in Duluth. He also loved growing watermelons. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church. Gerald is survived by his wife of 33 years Patricia of Litchfield, step-sons; Jim (and Lisa) Webster of St. Michael and Mark Webster of Blaine, grandchildren; Christopher, Tasha, and Stephanie, besides many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and 3 sisters.
