Gerald ""Jerry"" Drange

Gerald D. ""Jerry"" Drange, age 85, of Grove City, MN, died on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, April 15 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday and also one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Gerald Duane Drange, the son of Adolph and Esther (Johnson) Drange, was born on December 28, 1930 in Litchfield, MN. He received his education at the District 40 Country School and Grove City High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Koran Conflict, he was a member of the 125th Field Artillery Battalion. He was in charge of running a 105 mm Howitzer. Jerry was united in marriage to Joyce Schmidt in the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, MN on June 27, 1953. He was a farmer in Grove City for 29 years and later worked in construction and mowed ditches for Meeker County. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of the V.F.W., and also on the First Lutheran Cemetery Board. He enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, playing cards, doing word search puzzles, and taking trips to the casino. Gerald is survived by his wife Joyce of Grove City, MN; sons Kenneth (Nancy) Drange of Atwater, MN, Randy Drange of Grove City, MN; Ralph (Teresa) Drange of Grove City, MN; Kevin (Melissa) Drange of Grove City, MN and Kraig (Patty) Drange of Fairbanks, AK; 12 grandchildren Paul (Stephanie) Drange of Wadena, MN, Jordan Drange of Brighton, CO, Kyle (Jody) Drange of Chandler, AZ, Tierney (Jason) Eisenbacher of Willmar, MN, Brittney (Aaron) Zimmer of New London, MN, Rachael Drange of Olivia, MN, Maria Drange of Grove City, MN, Tania Drange of Grove City, MN, Paige (Tony) Sparks of Atwater, MN, Kameron Drange of Fargo, ND, Kelsea Zins of St. Cloud, MN and Megan Drange of Fairbanks, AK; 13 great grandchildren Noah, Jack, Nolan, Brighton, Hunter, Hudson, Allie, Gavin, Olivia, Jaxon, Paityn, Bentlie and Trey; and brother Ronald Drange of Litchfield, MN.
