George Arthur Ulrick

George A. Ulrick, age 90, died on September 23, 2014 at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. George Arthur Ulrick, the son of Arthur and Elenore (Schoolmeesters) Ulrick, was born on August 13, 1924 in Stanhope, Iowa. He grew up in the Stanhope area and received his education there. George served 20 years in the Air Force in various locations, including three overseas tours. He was stationed in Japan, Korea and Labrador, among the places he was stationed in the United States were Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Kansas and Ohio. He enjoyed going to Arizona in the winter months and traveling during the summer. He is survived by four sons: George Jr. (Charlene) of Beatrice, NE, David (Sue) of Garfield, WA, Robert (Gail) of Minneapolis, MN, Steven (Susan) of Wichita Falls, TX, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Katherine Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Mary Taylor of Iowa, John V. Ulrick of Minneapolis, MN, and Jerome Ulrick of Minneapolis, MN, one brother in law, Donald Stern of Colorado Springs, CO and one sister in law Emily Carlson of Litchfield, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife Edythe Ulrick in 1993 and his brothers in law William Stern, Warren Stern, Verl Stern.
