Garold William Horsman

Garold W. Horsman, age 77, of Litchfield died on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 7th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Ripley Cemetery with Military Honors by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Garold William Horsman, the son of William and Marie (Duchene) Horsman, was born on January 25, 1935, in Olivia, Minnesota. He graduated high school from Atwater High School in 1952. He worked for a few years before entering the U.S Army in 1955 and serving in Germany. In 1958 he returned to Minnesota. On May 2, 1959, he was united in marriage to Gloria Dvorak in Litchfield. They moved from Litchfield where he was working at Anderson Crane to Green Isle while he worked as a farm hand. They moved back to Litchfield for a short time before he took a job with Steel Products Inc and moved to Olivia. They returned to Litchfield and he started working for Custom Products. He worked there for 23 years until he retired. He was a member of the American Legion and was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield serving as Trustee and Usher. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed watching football and NASCAR on T.V. He especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Gerald was a friend of Bill W. for 44 years. He is survived by his wife Gloria of Litchfield, daughter Dawn Fontella, grandson William David Lentz both of Alexandria. He is also survived by his brothers James (and Betty) Horsman of Louisiana, and Kenneth Horsman of Atwater, sister Delores (and Ron) Stoeser of Arkansas and other relatives and friends.
