Fred LaLonde, Jr. age 89, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with a parish prayer service at 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Military Honors will be provide by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Fred LaLonde, Jr the son of Fred and Rosanne (Hagen) LaLonde, was born on April 21, 1923, in Mound, MN. His family moved to Litchfield and he graduated from Litchfield High School. Fred served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater. Following. He was united in marriage to Mildred Simons in Hutchinson in 1950. They moved to Litchfield and Fred worked for his parents for a short time at the Black Cat Café. In 1956, he worked for the railroad for a couple of years before starting a career in sales. Fred sold for many different companies, selling many different products. He was a member of the Litchfield American Legion and VFW. Fred loved the outdoors and shared that love with his family and his dogs. They enjoyed times at their lake cabin, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed baseball and umpired many baseball games. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife Millie LaLonde of Litchfield, children Deb LaLonde and partner Scott Bjerva of Eagan, Brenda (and Gregg) Popp of Hutchinson, Fred (and Robin) LaLonde, III of Litchfield, Jim LaLonde of Stacy, MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Laura (and Josh) Stussy, Sarah (Jon) Scoog, Michelle LaLonde and Partner Denny and Rachael Popp, great grandchildren, Liam Stussy, Quinton Stussy, Asa Schwarzbauer and Evelyn Schwarzbauer. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Jane and Margie. Memorials to the Litchfield American Legion and the Disabled Vets are preferred. Previous Events
