Frank Nesseth

Frank Nesseth, age 90, of Grove City, died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar, MN. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City with Pastor Jean Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at church. Interment will be at Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. A complete obituary notice will follow. Frank Nesseth, the son of Ole and Helma (Nelson) Nesseth, was born on November 29, 1917 in Badger, MN. Frank was united in marriage to Ardis Stiff at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield, on December 21, 1941. Frank lived in the Litchfield and Grove City area. Growing up, Frank farmed with his dad, while they lived in Meeker County. He was a baseball pitcher, playing in Forest City, Darwin, before playing in Springfield and St. Louis, Mo. In 1942 he was drafted and served in the Army Air Corps in Berma, India for 3 years. He ended his baseball pitching career working with the Minneapolis Millers in 1946. Frank spent 15 years working for Johnson-Brothers Construction in Litchfield, and was the maintenance man for Grove City, retiring in 1982. Frank was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City and the Admiral Benson V.F.W. Post #2818. He enjoyed hunting with his buddy Dayton and ice fishing with Ardis. Frank is survived by his children Charlotte Liedholm of Grove City and Nancy (and Lindy Smith) Nesseth-Smith of Lakeside, Montana; granddaughter Stephanie (and Joel) Heining of Chaska; great grandchildren Mady, Jeffrey and Joshua; a sister Doris Stoffel of Brainerd; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Ole and Helma; wife Ardis; 5 brothers Oren, Elmer, Herb, Kenny and Donald; 2 sisters Eunice and Maybelle.
