Francis K. Bjork, 65, of Grove City, MN, died on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home, in Grove City. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Church of St. Philip, with Father Joseph Steinbeisser celebrating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Stockholm Lutheran Cemetery.
Francis Keith Bjork, the son of Carl Joseph and Alice (Johnson) Bjork was born on April 24, 1945, at the Community Hospital in Hutchinson, MN. He attended the Dahl School and Cokato High School. He was confirmed on May 17, 1959 at the Stockholm Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Susan M. Carlisle in Nisswa, MN on October 8, 1966. Throughout his life he lived in Lester Prairie, Cokato, Eden Valley and Grove City. Francis worked for Schwartz Manufacturing for almost 30 years in Lester Prairie, MN. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, crafts, flee markets and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a snowmobiler and snowmobile racer in the Winnipeg Canada race and smaller sanctions in the USA. He raced in demo cars and tractor pulls. He also enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Good Sams where he made good friends along his travels and was able to spend many years traveling throughout the western US, Mexico and Canada with his wife and nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Susan M. Bjork; sister Bev (and Ernie) Svanda of Silver Lake, MN; brother-in-law Arnie (Mae) Eveniski and sister-in-law Mrs. (Rodney) Marlyce Bjork; nephew Jesse Lee Andreoff of Buffalo, MN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and nephews and cousins; and God-daughter Angela Tashe. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Ronny Keith Bjork; and siblings Arlene Evinski and Rodney Bjork.
