Frances 'Fran' M. Dvorak, age 70, of Litchfield, MN, died at her home in Litchfield on August 12, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday August 16, 2012 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with at 7:30 PM Prayer Service. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in Camp Ripley Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Memorials are preferred to Ecumen Hospice of Litchfield, Flowers of Mercy and St. Philip's Church and School. Frances 'Fran' Marie Dvorak, the daughter of Sylvester and Barbara (Chmielewski) Mallak was born on May 27, 1942 at her home in rural Silver Lake, MN. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Myron on August 23, 1960. Following their marriage, Myron was drafted into the Army, and Fran felt that she also served during this time. They had four children - David, Anna, Paul and Mary. She worked as a nursing assistant at Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glencoe and at Green Giant in Glencoe. In 1980 they moved to Madison, MN as a half owner and operator, with her husband Myron, of Madison Ford and Mercury. She worked as a nursing assistant in Madison Lutheran Home and attended Southwest State University from 1986 - 1990, where she graduated with honors with a BS in Business Administration and Management. She moved to Litchfield in June of 1988, where she worked at Meeker County Hospital, for Dr. Prasad, and Allina Clinic in Litchfield, until retiring in 2006. She was a Girl Scout leader in Glencoe and Service Unit Chair Person of Girl Scout Council in Glencoe in the 1970's. She was a Charter member of the Nation Emergency Medical Technicians in 1976 and a MN EMT. She was a volunteer ambulance attendant from 1976 - 1980 in Glencoe. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip. As a child she enjoyed playing in the woods on the farm and making friends with the animals. She enjoyed family get-togethers and reunions, gardening, cross country skiing, knitting, photography, camping and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind and thoughtful personality. Fran is survived by her husband Myron of Litchfield, MN; children, David Dvorak of Montevideo, MN, Paul (and Rachel) Dvorak of Burnsville, MN, Anna Marie Dvorak Rose Haymond of Eagan, MN, Mary Elizabeth Dvorak Erickson of Oakdale, MN; grandchildren, Crystal Rose, Joshua Rose, Adam Dvorak, Alexandra Dvorak, Kayla Rose and Samantha Judovsky; great grandchildren Victoria Mae Schmitz and Logan Dvorak; brothers and sisters, Sylvester (and Rose) Mallak Jr. of New Ulm, MN, Margaret (and Hubert) Schermann of Silver Lake, MN, Paul (and Annette) Mallak of Oakdale, MN, Agnes (and Keith) Grogan of Tucson, MN and John (and Jane) Mallak of Hutchinson, MN; in-laws, Delores (and Edward) Goede of Silver Lake, MN; Harvey (and Kathy) Dvorak of Emily, MN, Kathy Dvorak of Rice, MN, Sharon (and Steve) Chandler of Olivia, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
