Fern Hazel Johnson

Fern H. Johnson, age 86, of Darwin died on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin with Pastor Joe Midthun officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3rd at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will resume one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Fern Hazel Johnson, the daughter of Orval and Clara (Dolder) Andrews was born in Benson, MN on December 24, 1924. Her family moved to various places before coming to Litchfield where she graduated from high school. On September 21, 1945 she was united in marriage to Naldo Johnson in Litchfield. Together they made their home in Darwin where Fern worked as a Home Health Aid. Fern was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin and the Litchfield and Dassel Saddle Clubs. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing on horseback, bowling, playing softball and working in the yard. Fern was also fond of animals and always had dogs and cats for pets. Fern loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed children so much that she volunteered as a grandparent. She is survived by her daughter Lynn (and Steve) Simenson of Darwin, grandchildren, Erin Ring, Andrea Ring and Husband Rocky, Michael (and Vanessa) Simenson and Victoria Simenson and a great grandchild, Cameron Ring.
