Evelyn Valaria Rosenow

Evelyn V. Rosenow, age 92, of Litchfield died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Dassel Lakeside Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Augustana Memorial Chapel in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Evelyn Valaria Rosenow, the daughter of Otto and Emily (DeRemmer) Weigelt, was born on April 5, 1919, in Harvey Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She was married to Herman Rosenow on October 6, 1938, in Litchfield. Together they farmed and worked as a DHIA milk tester. Evelyn also worked at the Deli in a local grocery store. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She loved to garden and enjoyed embroidery. In her later years she also enjoyed doing bead work. Evelyn and Herman loved camping in their motor home, fishing at Clear Lake in Watkins and playing cards and marbles. They enjoyed doing these activities with their family and friends. She is survived by her children, LaDonna Rosenow of Lakeville, Karen (and Larry) Stenmark of Dassel and Edward Rosenow of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Vicki Martin, Becky Jo Schmit, Kyle Stenmark, Scott Rosenow and Brenda Miller, and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman, sister Lorraine, grandson Troy Stenmark, brother Earl and daughter-in-law Lois Rosenow.
