Evelyn Pearson

Evelyn T. Pearson, age 90, of Litchfield, MN, died at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield on July 12, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Litchfield with Pastor Bill Kerr officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Evelyn Theodora Pearson, the daughter of Ernest and Mathilda (Lindberg) Pearson, was born on November 28, 1919 in Danielson Township, MN. She was Baptized at home on April 24, 1920 by Reverend Stromberg, and confirmed in the old Methodist Church. She received her education in Litchfield, graduating from Litchfield High School in 1938. She graduated from Roger Brenners Beauty School in July, 1941 and worked for 10 years before going to post graduate work at Isabell’s University of Beauty Cultures at Fort Worth, TX, working for ten weeks at a time over a five year period. Evelyn moved back to Litchfield and worked in various beauty salons before opening her own salon “Evelyn’s Beauty Salon” above Ohlanders Our Own Hardware Store. She later moved her shop to her home. Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a participant of Relay for Life. She enjoyed getting up early, walking around Lake Ripley, golfing, watching birds, travel, snow skiing until age 70 and spending time with family and friends. Evelyn is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Vivian and niece Mary.
