Evelyn M. Norlin

Evelyn M. Norlin, age 96, of Dassel, MN passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 16, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, MN. Evelyn Marion Norlin, the daughter of John and Leona (Blaisdell) Coe was born June 12, 1916 in Jordan, MN. She graduated from South High School and was united in marriage in Minneapolis, MN to Floyd Norlin on August 31, 1935. She raised her family in South Minneapolis and lived in Litchfield and Dassel, MN, the past 14 years. Evelyn loved spending time playing the piano, organ, harmonica and the Ukulele. She entertained her family and many happy listeners though the years at family gatherings, church gatherings and nursing homes. She was a member of the ""Happy Wanderer's"", a harmonica group based in Minneapolis, MN. She loved baking and cooking for her family. Spending the holidays with her family was very special to her. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, quilting, sewing, going to Bible studies and going to church. Evelyn worked many years in the banking industry at Northwestern Bank and1st Banks. After retirement she worked at Byerly's and Lund's in the Minneapolis area demonstrating food. Evelyn is survived by her children, Karl (and wife Susan) of Albuquerque NM, Janice (and husband Raymond) Harrison of Coon Rapids, MN, Jon (and wife Gretchen) of Cross Lake, MN, Sheriff Jeff (and wife Jackie) of Litchfield, MN; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Norlin of Maple Lake, MN. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
