Evelyn G Nordin

Evelyn G. Nordin, age 92, of Litchfield died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Evelyn Gayle Nordin, the daughter of Burton and Anna (Marty) Barry, was born on May 11, 1922 in Grey Eagle, MN. She attended grade school in Burtrum, Minnesota. She was married to Milan Dimond and they lived in various states. On July 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Nordin in Estherville, Iowa. They made their home in Litchfield. She worked outside the home cleaning the American Legion, KLFD, and various homes. She also helped others with house work and hosting events. Evelyn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a life-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a collector of various items such as buttons, dolls, pencils, and pens, enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets with husband LeRoy and was proficient in the art of making crafts. After entering the Emmanuel Home she became an avid bingo player. Evelyn was very friendly and got along with everyone. She particularly enjoyed children and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Milan (and Debbie) Dimond of Litchfield, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son Charles Dimond, and 4 sisters: Lois, Inez, Doris and Clarice.
