Evelyn Knoll

Evelyn Knoll, age 89, of Litchfield died on March 8th, 2010 at Cedar Crest of Silver Lake. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield with Pastor Harvey Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Internment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Evelyn Pearl Knoll was born to Daniel and Feea (Carlson) Pring on May 30, 1920 in Stevens Township, Stevens County, Minnesota. She graduated from Alberta High School in 1938. She attended the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris MN where she earned a secretarial degree in 1941. After graduation Evelyn worked several years in Morris. She married Dean Knoll on May 2, 1943. Dean and Evelyn lived in Walnut Grove, Jackson, and Lamberton before moving to Litchfield in 1959. They had two children, Gary and Nancy and two grandchildren, Feea and Neil. From 1968 to 1979 Evelyn worked at Litchfield Senor High School as a secretary to the Business Manager. After retirement, Evelyn and Dean enjoyed spending summer days at their lake home on Lake George and traveled to craft shows throughout Minnesota. Evelyn enjoyed baking, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include one son, Gary (Debbie) Knoll, Brownsville, MN and one daughter, Nancy (Mike) Leifker, Menasha, WI and two grandchildren, Feea Leifker, State College, PA and Neil Leifker, Menasha, WI. Evelyn is also survived by her sister-in-law, Eleanor Pring, Madison, MN as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Floyd Pring, and Orville Pring, her sister Eva Lemmerman and her husband Dean Knoll. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Evelyn’s long time friends and to her doctors and caregivers at Emmaus Place, Bethany and a special thank you to Cedar Crest of Silver Lake. Your compassion and dedication to residents with memory loss is outstanding and is greatly appreciated.
