Eva Elaine Estwick

Eva E. Estwick, age 89, of Litchfield died on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, December 6th at Augustana Chapel in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran-Milan Methodist Cemetery in Milan, MN on Tuesday, December 7th at 10:00 AM. Eva Elaine Estwick, the daughter of Harold and Agnes (Hemingson) Miller, was born on April 30, 1921 in Atwater. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. She attended rural School Dist. #27 in Kandiyohi county through the 8th grade and graduated from Atwater High School in 1939. She furthered he education in Litchfield's Teachers Training Program, graduating in 1940. Eva taught school in rural Kandiyohi county for five years. On January 10, 1944, she was united in marriage to Maynard N. Estwick in Aberdeen, SD. They lived in Aberdeen for nine years before moving to Milan in 1955. One daughter, Joyce Elaine, was born to them on September 10, 1947. Joyce died in 1969. Eva served as secretary and bookkeeper at the Milan School for 17 years and secretary of the Kviteseid Church for nine years. She was a very active member of her church. She taught Sunday School, Bible School, was Superintendent of Sunday School, Chairman and Secretary of Circle, taught Bethel Bible Series and was in the choir for ten years. Eva was a member and served at Treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary #359. She was also a member of the Gideon Auxiliary since 1968, holding various offices. She moved to Appleton in 2003 and then to Litchfield in March of 2009. Eva is survived by her sisters, Harriette Swenson, Phyllis Myers, Renae Larson and Beverly (and Bob) Nickerson. She is also survived by many nieces nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maynard in 2009, daughter Joyce, and sister Jean Deisting.
