Esther Worden

Esther M. Worden, age 87, of Litchfield, MN, died on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Kerr officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Esther Marie Worden was born on June 29, 1922 to Henry and Rose Marie (Nueschwander) Wolf in Fairmont, MN. She received her education in District 75. Esther was united in marriage on August 16, 1942 to John Brigham Worden in Fairmont, MN. They lived in Elmore and Delft and owned Grocery Stores in Huntly and Adrian. They then moved to Cosmos and ran a gas station before moving to Litchfield. Esther worked as a clerk at Johnson Drug in Litchfield for 15 years. She was a member of the Litchfield Eagles Club #3424, the American Legion Auxiliary, card club, sewing club and the United Methodist Church of Litchfield. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and handiwork, cards such as 500 and Skips and spending time with family. Esther is survived by her children; Gale (and Kim) Clausen of McNiel, AZ and Glen (and LouAnn) Worden of Cokato, MN, grandchildren; John, Jolene, Amy, Nick, Jeffrey and Gregory, 6 great grandchildren, brother; Lawrence (and Bernice) of Blue Earth, MN and sister in law Eleanor Wolf of Fairmont, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Wilbert Wolf and Raymond (and Rita) Wolf.
