Ervin P. Rech, age 84, of Dassel died on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin with Father John Pearson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday July 13th at the church with a Parish prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the St. Pius Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe.
Ervin Peter Rech, the son of Jacob and Louise (Adams) Rech was born on February 1, 1925 in Glencoe. He grew up in Glencoe and received his education there. Ervin farmed in his younger years and later worked for Advance Machines in Plymouth. He lived in Glencoe and New Germany before moving to Dassel. On August 28, 1970 he was united in marriage to Corinne Lindenfelser in Buffalo. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin. Ervin enjoyed woodworking, reading and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Corinne of Dassel, children; Rodney (and Marlene) Davis of Waconia, Larry (and Cheri) Davis of Watertown, Dianne (and Robert) Kenning of Dassel, Janine (and Mike) Peterson of Prior Lake, and Jason (and Erin) Rech of Waconia. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and a sister, Mary Rech of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Victor and Ralph. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are preferred in lieu of flowers.
