Elton Selvig

Elton L. Selvig, age 78, of Danielson Township, MN, died on Monday, November 9, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Beckville Lutheran Church in rural Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Arndahl Cemetery. Elton LeRoy Selvig, the son of Oliver and Anna (Jensen) Selvig, was born May 2, 1931 in Danielson Township, MN. He grew up on a nearby farm and moved to his farm when he was 8 years old. Elton was baptized and confirmed at Arndahl Lutheran Church. Elton had a lovely life as a bachelor and enjoyed farming with his brother Jerald. Later in his life he acquired farmers lung, a hazard associated with farming. Elton was known as “Bud” and “ Al” to his family and friends. He enjoyed watching football and going to town for coffee at Swans Café and Main Street Café after his retirement. Elton is survived by his sisters Evelyn KoKosh of N.E. Minneapolis, MN, Ardis Olson of Danielson Township, MN and Doris Larson of Beavertown, Oregon; nieces and nephews Roxanne (and Jim) Imbrie, Brent (and Tricia) Larson, Sherry (and Corey) Meyers, Barry (and Lorrie) Larson; 5 great nieces; 1 great nephew; and cousins Don Larson, Linda Larson, Harold Larson, Joyce Boxell and Gordon Larson. He is preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Anna; brothers Myron and Jerald; and an infant sister Helen.
