Else Morch-Cowley

Else Mørch-Cowley, age 71 of Litchfield, MN, passed away at her home on Tuesday July 23, 2024. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday August 24, 2024, at Johnson Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service.

Else Mørch-Cowley, the daughter of Ole and Grete (Backer) Mørch, was born in Oslo, Norway on June 22, 1953. She graduated from Eikeli Skole and continued her education, graduating from Tromsø LaererHoyskole in 1983. She was united in marriage to Edmund Cowley on January 8, 1994, in Ostmark Lutheran Church and they remained lovingly married until Ed’s death in 2023. Else had an extensive career in child care and education, working as a kindergarten teacher in Norway, at Kids of the Kingdom in Litchfield, and as a cook at Litchfield Middle School. She was active in the Litchfield Community Theater; and she enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. Known as “Lete” to many people, she was a strong character who will be missed by many. 

Else is survived by her nieces and nephews Nathalie Picard, Nina Picard, Julian Picard, Melanie Witthoft, “Jason” Glen Bayer, Brian Bayer, Kevin Cowley, Ryan Cowley, Katie Cowley; great nieces and nephews Thor, Ryatt, Ian, Erin, Drake, Griffin; brother-in-law Jean Picard; and sister-in-law Mary Alice Cowley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed; parents Ole and Grete; sister Anine; brother-in-law Doug; sister-in-law Doreen and nephew Nathan.
