Elmer Geislinger, age 88 of Watkins, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Sunday, October 20, 2024. A funeral service for Elmer will be held at the Church of St. Anthony in Watkins on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00-7:00PM at the St. Anthony's Parish Hall and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery following the service.  The service for Elmer will be livestreamed at www.ertlfuneral.com 

Elmer was born on July 24, 1936, to Edward and Marcella (Boeckmann) Geislinger. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Meyer on May 30, 1961 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. He was a long time member of the Church of St. Anthony where he was an usher for many years and a member in the Catholic Order of Foresters and Knights of Columbus. He worked for Lametti & Sons for 36 years and enjoyed 26 years of retirement doing the things he loved. He volunteered his time for 30 years preparing the baseball field for the Eden Valley-Watkins High School and the Eden Valley Hawks. He also enjoyed playing euchre, bowling, watching sports and spending time outdoors snowmobiling, fishing, deer hunting, and cutting wood. Elmer also treasured spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren watching them play sports or doing other various activities and trying to beat them in a game of corn hole.

Left to cherish Elmer’s memory are his wife, Kathleen Geislinger of Watkins; children, Keith Geislinger of Champlin, Kay (Jim) Nistler of Grand Rapids, Elroy Geislinger of Watkins, Eric (Molly) Geislinger of Montrose; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brothers, Irv (Betty) Geislinger of Watkins, Vic (Mary Jane) Geislinger of Watkins, Robert (Diane) Geislinger of Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Arlene Lahr and Diane Janssen; brothers, Lawrence and Michael.
