Ella Lorraine Rueckert

Ella L. Rueckert, age 83, of Grove City died on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Rice memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 12th at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City. Ella Lorraine Hillstrom was born on August 28, 1933, on the family farm in Harvey Township to Alvah and Grace (Lindell) Hillstrom. Ella was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She attended school in Grove City. On December 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gerald Rueckert. To this union were born three children: Dean Craig and Cindy. Ella and Gerald farmed near Regal, MN for ten years. They moved to Litchfield in 1968 and she worked at Fingerhut. In 1977 they moved to Grove City and Ella worked at their family owned hardware store and drove school bus and later worked at Subway. She retired in 1996. She overcame the obstacles of polio when she was 7 years old. She also survived nasal cancer and breast caner. Ella enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, playing cards and trips to the casino. She is survived by her husband Gerald Rueckert of Grove City; children Dean (and Brenda) Rueckert of Grove City, Craig Rueckert of Moorhead, Cindy (and John) Gregor of Hutchinson; grandchildren Kerri (and Mike) Hendrickson, Jesse (and Katie) Rueckert, Daniel (and Samantha) Rueckert, step-grandchild Kelly Scheeler; great grandchildren Christian Hendrickson, Allie Hendrickson, Saraya Rueckert, Lincoln Rueckert, Ellie Louise Rueckert, step-great grandchildren Brandon Scheeler, Jennifer Scheeler and Aaron Scheeler. She is also survived by her brother Allen (and Janet) Hillstrom of Willmar, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Arlene Rueckert of Litchfield, Sally Rueckert of Fergus Falls, and Donna Rueckert of Grove City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lillian Holley.
