Elizabeth “Beth” K. Wicklund passed away after a battle with Dementia on July 11, 2020, at the age of 55 at Lakeside Healthcare and Nursing Home. A walk through visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service.
Elizabeth Kristine Wicklund was born on September 8, 1964, to Thomas & Wilma (Winger) Nagel. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1983, and attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth, studying to become a Paralegal. During her first day on campus she met Scott Wicklund, and after graduating in 1988, they became married in 1991, on December 28th. It was a cold but beautiful day in Blaine with a calm, light, fluffy snowfall to celebrate their commitment to one another. Soon after, they bought a house in Buffalo, Minnesota. Beth’s career as a Paralegal began in Downtown, Minneapolis, at Opperman Heins and Pacquine. She worked there for 6 years until 1999, when the couple moved to Litchfield. She began a new job as a full-time mom raising their daughter Olivia, and not too far behind, their son William. Beth decided to go back to work for the Wood, Berry, & Rue firm in Litchfield and worked there until she was diagnosed with Dementia in 2015. Beth’s wit was intact until the end, but the Dementia had caused her body to shut down physically.
She was a creative, witty, and caring mother, wife, and friend. She is known for her gourmet cooking and creativity when it came to planning extravagant Holiday gatherings. Her enjoyment of cooking and hosting made her favorite holiday, Halloween, an event to remember. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Beth also loved scrapbooking, her pugs, bible study, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her laugh, which she never held back. During her final days, she enjoyed her family’s company, and her daughter, Olivia, reading to her.
Beth is survived by her husband, Scott Wicklund of Anoka; her children, Olivia (Daniel) Oster of Fridley, and William Wicklund of Duluth; her sister Amy Diez of Hugo; and her mother, Wilma Nagel, of Dassel. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Nagel, and her grandparents. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Animal Humane Society in honor of Beth.
