Eleanor Lois Renando

Eleanor L. Renando, age 94, of Maple Grove and formerly Litchfield, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Wildflower Lodge in Maple Grove. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery at a later date. Eleanor Lois Renando, the daughter of Benjamin and Ethel (Norine) Bartlett, was born on February 3, 1922, in Bagley, Minnesota. Her mother passed away in 1923 during child birth and Eleanor spent her early childhood with her grandmother and her favorite uncle Lawrence, on a farm west of Onamia until her father remarried Raghneld Melgaard and she moved to Atwater at the age of 9. She graduated from Atwater High School in 1939. On March 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to Willard Renando in Little Falls. Together they farmed near Atwater before moving to Litchfield. Eleanor worked at the Litchfield Woolen Mills and as a clerk at J.C Penny's. She was a member of the United Methodist church in Litchfield where she also worked as a secretary for several years. She was active in the church teaching Sunday school and being a member of the United Methodist Women. Eleanor enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, painting and reading. She is survived by her children Arlys Erickson of Hurricane, Utah, Warren (and Jean) Renando of Jackson, Michigan, Beverly Renando of Robbinsdale and Dave (and Deb) Renando of Columbia Heights; grandchildren Nick, Tim, Tara, Wade, Andrea, Alex, Tiffany, Brittany; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard, grandson Scott, brother Kenny Bartlett and sisters Evelyn Lundgren and Marion Field.
