Eldoris ""Doris"" Elaine Christians

Eldoris Elaine (Evans) Christians, 64, of Litchfield, MN passed away in her home Tuesday, October 21, 2014 with her children by her side. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. A private family burial service will conducted at a later date. Eldoris ""Doris"" was born on February 6, 1950 in Tyler, MN to Harvid D. and Marba L. (Nelson) Evans. Doris grew up on the family farm outside of Russell, MN and received her education at Russell High School. Doris was united in marriage to Jerome Duane Christians on July 24, 1967, in Minneapolis. They continued to live in the cities until they moved to their farm acreage outside of Litchfield, MN. Doris worked at the Farm Services Agency before taking a position with the Meeker County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) in Litchfield until her retirement in 2011. She made a memorable and cherished impression on many people she worked with over the years. Doris enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Doris loved to crochet and would always crochet her grandchildren a special Christmas ornament each year. She enjoyed feeding the birds in her yard, creating flower beds around the house, watching her grandchildren at tractor pulls and school events. Doris was an outstanding mother, grandmother and friend. She lived life by setting an example in humility, understanding, and caring. She is lovingly remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her three children, Clinton (Shelly) Christians of Watkins, MN, Laura Redepenning of Olathe, KS, Brent Christians of Litchfield, MN; four grandchildren: Kendra and Lukas Christians, Jacob and Adam Redepenning; sisters, LuAnn (Mike) Strohfus of Volga, SD, Connie Evans of Marshall, MN, Cheryl (Mike) Miller of Charleston, SC; brother, Gary Evans of Marshall, MN; nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her father, husband, nephew (Eric Miller).
