Elden Arthur Winter, the son of Arthur and Doris (Timm) Winter was born on March 7, 1932 in Arlington, MN, and grew up on the family farm. He was baptized on March 27, 1932 and later confirmed on March 25, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Elden graduated with the class of 1949 from the Arlington Public High School. On October 12, 1952, Elden was united in marriage to Joyce Spiering at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, MN. Together they made their home in New Ulm until they retired and moved to their home on Lake Stella. This marriage was blessed with four daughters, Lois, Jackie, Tammy and Deb. Elden served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 9, 1953 until receiving his honorable discharge on Jan. 9, 1955. Elden worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm for 32 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1987. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching the MN Vikings and Twins. The five fishing trips in Alaska was his special dream come true. He looked forward to spending the winter months first in St. George, UT and then in Mesa, AZ. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #104 in Litchfield. Elden is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Lois (Pat) Longley Parker of Pocatello, ID, Jackie (Jim) Schuetzle of New Ulm, MN, Tammy (Michael) Groll of Logan, UT and Deb (Mike) Donnelly of Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Anna and Zachary Longley, Mackenzie, Matthew and Megan Schuetzle, Mick, Alex and Katie Groll, and Erin and Ben Donnelly; great grandchildren, Lucas and Brycen; half brother, Roger (Myra) Jahr of Arlington, MN and an aunt, Valerie Doering of Hutchinson, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Doris; step-father, Martin Jahr and son-in-law, Al Longley. Previous Events
