Edwin Garding

Edwin R. Garding, age 50, of Darwin, MN, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at his home in Darwin, MN. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN with Pastoral Administrator Mike McNeil of St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church of Forest City officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Cemetery in Forest City, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Edwin Richard Garding, was born on January 17, 1959, the son of Hilarious and Evelyn (Faber) Garding in St. Cloud, MN. He grew up in the rural Watkins area and was baptized and confirmed at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Forest City. He received his education at Litchfield High School. On May 22, 2004 he was united in marriage to Patti Keppers. He worked at Littfin Lumber in Howard Lake, MN and was a member of the National Guard of Litchfield, MN. He has lived in Darwin for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dog Fred and spending time with family and friends. Edwin is survived by his wife Patti; children Dusty, Josh, Krystal and Chris; brothers and sisters Donald (and Diane) Garding of Kimball, MN, Kathy (and Herb) Thielen of Richmond, MN, Roger (and Judy) Garding of Glenwood, MN, Jerry (and Betty) Garding of Litchfield, MN, Allen (and Marge) Garding of Hutchinson, MN, Karen (and Luis) Chavira of Arizona, Joyce (and Tom) Wilson of Kimball, MN, Susan (and Lynn) Vennes of Fosston, MN, Annette Oporto of Watkins, MN, and Debbie (and special friend Dave) Garding of Litchfield, MN; sisters in law Melody Garding of Watkins and Faye Garding of Kingston; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers LeRoy Garding and Hilarious Garding, Jr. and numerous nephews.
