Interment will be held in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Earl Wayne Rueckert, the son of Frank and Elva (Jensen) Rueckert, was born on July 8, 1929, in Lake Elizabeth Township. He attended rural school and graduated from Grove City High School in 1948. After High School he worked for the Meeker County Highway Department until joining the US Army. Earl served as a Military Policeman during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return from service he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Augustinson at the Arndahl Lutheran Church on October 10, 1953. They made their home north of Grove City. Earl worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years becoming the Grove City Post Master in 1963 and retiring in 1990. Earl was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He was also a member of the Litchfield American Legion and NAPUS. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing golf. He fished for trout in the streams of the north shore and walleye in Canadian waters. Hunting trips to the north woods and Colorado held special shared memories with family and long time friends. Weekday afternoons spent shaking dice and Saturday morning coffee with the guys were times he enjoyed. He loved his family and was very proud of his children. Travelling to their homes and spending time with his grandchildren brought him great joy. Upon retirement, Earl and Donna spent several years dodging the cold by spending winters in Arizona. He is survived by his wife Donna Rueckert of Grove City, children, Deborah (John) Delpha of Spring, Texas, Mark (Shelly) Rueckert of Mahtomedi, Steven Rueckert of Champlin, grandchildren, Andrea (Kenneth) Oaks, Amy (Caylin) Brashear, Kelly Rueckert and Kent Rueckert. He is also survived by his brother Gerald (Ella) Rueckert of Grove City, sisters-in-law, Marcella Rueckert of Fergus Falls and Arlene Rueckert of Litchfield, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Rolland, Wesley, Glenn and Ralph. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Grove City C.A.R.E. program and their volunteer drivers.
