Doyle Peter Krahling

Doyle Peter Krahling, age 83, of Litchfield MN, died Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 in Foley MN. A Private Memorial Service will be held for immediate family only. Doyle and his twin brother Daryl, were born on the family farm September 20th, 1936 to Bernadine (Fettes) and George Krahling in Osceola County, Iowa. Doyle’s younger years were spent in Iowa, later moving to Minnesota. The family of 8 settled near Grove City, MN where they remained and farmed till moving on with their own futures. Doyle attended and graduated high school at the historic West Central School Of Agriculture at Morris, Minnesota in 1954–then served in the U.S. Navy. Doyle’s passion for the sport of wrestling influenced his entire life; wrestling both in high school and the U.S. Navy. Doyle was a member of The Roman Catholic Church. In 1958 he married Joyce Larson—starting his own family. Doyle Krahling lived a unique life; never happy to settle down to any particular place or lifestyle. Doyle was a coach, railroad worker, insurance man, home builder, hog farmer and postman. He lived in many places—too numerous to count or recall. Doyle was quick to carry on a good conversation and never turned down a great argument. His hobbies were few and his friends were many. Doyle relished being of German descent. Doyle is survived by sister Imogene Hoff, son John (Barbara Deetz) Krahling, daughter Veronica (Mark Johnson) Krahling, daughter Sherri (“Hodge”) Hodge, son William (Darla) Krahling, daughter Jill Krahling and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ivalee Hanson and Lily Miley; brothers, Daryl Krahling and Linus Krahling; brothers-in-law Leonard Hanson and Arthur “Art” Hoff; granddaughter, Dayleen Krahling.
