Dorothy Evelyn Hunt

Dorothy E. Hunt, age 78 of Litchfield, MN died on May 7, 2020 at her home in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday July 9, 2021 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Litchfield, MN. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, July 8th, 6:30 pm at Jomas Hill Vineyard, 67755 205th Street, Darwin, MN. Dorothy Evelyn (Conant) Hunt was born January 3, 1942 in Washington, DC. Her parents were Louise (Nichols) Conant and Lee M. Conant. She grew up in suburban Maryland and graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, MD in 1959. She attended the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, and in 1963 received a degree in journalism. She worked for the University of Maryland as publications editor in the College of Agriculture. In 1969 she moved to San Francisco, CA where she worked for an advertising agency and a major hotel. In 1981 she moved to Minnesota and married Howard Herbert Hunt on September 17, 1981. They have one daughter Emily who was born in 1982. They moved to Litchfield in March 1986. She has worked for an accountant, at a coupon rebate company and most recently in the accounting department of Meeker County Social Services. She has served on the Community Education Advisory Council and the Meeker Area Food Shelf Advisory Board and was active at Trinity Episcopal Church, serving as vestry member, treasurer, and lay reader. Dorothy enjoyed fishing and camping and for the last 10 years, the practice of yoga. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard Herbert Hunt. She is survived by her daughter Emily (Brian) Wittkop of Fargo, ND, brother-in-law Robert (Diane) Hunt of Aitkin, MN and many dear family and friends.
