Dorothy Mae Hetsch

Dorothy M. Hetsch, age 86, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2013 at Ecumen Bethany Assisted Living in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Augustana Memorial Chapel in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Dorothy Mae Hetsch the daughter of Martin and Alta (Johnson) Wieker was born on May 15, 1928 in Bird Island Township. She grew up and received her early education in the Cedar Mills and Corvuso area and graduated from Grove City High School. After high school, she moved to Oregon where she lived for a short time before moving to San Francisco. Dorothy was united in marriage to Peter Hetsch on January 23, 1961. After she retired from Bell Telephone as an operator, they moved to the Philippines and lived there for ten years before moving to Arkansas. Two years later, when Peter died, she moved to Litchfield to live near her sister. Dorothy enjoyed travelling with her husband. Dorothy is survived by her siblings; Donald Wieker of Chaska, Gary Wieker of Minneapolis, Edward (Faye) Wieker of Hot Spring Village, AK, and Lucille Nelson of Litchfield besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Clarence, Virgil, Gene, Kenneth, Marvin, Elmer, Martin, and Norene.
