Doris Marie Lewerenz

Doris M. Lewerenz, age 80, 2012, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Doris Marie Lewerenz, the daughter of Harold and Teckla (Peterson) Johnson, was born on July 3, 1932, in Flint, Michigan. Her family moved to the Strout area and then to Litchfield. She met Gerald ""Bud"" Lewerenz and on September 21, 1950, they were united in marriage. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Doug's Auto and Quinn Motors. She also worked at Modern Quilters. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader before her eyesight began to fail. Doris also enjoyed trips to the casino, and doing the Sunday Star Tribune Crossword. She liked old time television movies and also watching MASH and Golden Girls. Doris will be remembered for her big heart and how she accepted everyone. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed baking and cooking for them. She was preceded in death by her mother Teckla, father Harold, and an infant brother.
