Doris Bohn

Doris Adeline Bohn, the daughter of Hjalmer and Agnes (Marquardt) Nelson, was born on April 19, 1917 in Meeker County, MN. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Pastor Gusa and was confirmed on June 5, 1932 at Beckville Lutheran Church by Pastor Wallace Carlsen. She was united in marriage to Earl H.J. Bohn at Beckville Lutheran Church on October 3, 1940 by Pastor Wallace Carlsen. Doris lived on a farm in Cedar Mills until moving to Litchfield in 1994. She was a homemaker and worked in Glencoe, MN at Green Giant during the corn pack. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was active with the Mary Martha Guild. She was also a member of the Carousel Club for many years, the hospital auxiliary in Dassel and Darwin and was a volunteer at the Meeker Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crocheting, playing bingo, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting and attending senior dining. Doris is survived by her children Norman (and Marlene) Bohn of Litchfield, MN, Dianne Bohn Stone of Darwin, MN, Richard (and Bonnie) Bohn of Litchfield, MN, Julieann (and Keith) Fredrickson of Litchfield, MN, and Kenneth (and Lisa) Bohn of Litchfield, MN. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister Aileen (and Kermit) Swanson of Dassel, MN; sisters-in-law Eva Nelson of Litchfield, MN, Florence Gjermanson of Hutchinson, MN, Mabel Thomas of Bloomington, MN, Louis (and Virginia) Bohn of Litchfield, MN, Marilyn Miller of Litchfield, MN and Hazel Erickson of Litchfield, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents Hjalmer and Agnes; husband Earl in 1989; infant daughter in 1954; sister Eunice Johnson; brothers Milton, Paul, LeRoy, Marlyn, Orville, Ronald and LaVerne; and son-in-law Alvin Stone.
