Donald Ray Burr

Rev. Donald R. ""Donny"" Burr, age 47 of St. Cloud died at his home on Friday, June 10, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Litchfield United Methodist Chuch. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Manannah Cemetery of Union Grove. Donald Ray Burr, the son of Donald J. and Donna (Lounsbury) Burr, was born on March 28, 1964, in Paynesville, Minnesota. He completed elementary school in Paynesville before moving to the Iron Range and graduating from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School. On August 16, 1986 Don was united in marriage to Lori Donaldson in Denver, IA. To this union a son, Philip and a daughter, Sophie were born. Don graduated from St. Cloud State University from the Social Work Program. Don was employed at various social service agencies that helped others become more self-sufficient , including children, elderly, mentally challenged and the chronically ill. Don enjoyed teaching Sunday school, confirmation, swimming lessons, play productions, gardening and art work. He also enjoyed participating in Stephens Ministries. He is survived by his children; Philip Burr and Sophie Burr both of St. Cloud. His parents Don and Donna Burr of Litchfield, brother Timothy Burr of Paynesville, sister Barbara (Burr) Monzavi and brother-in-law Dr. Amir Monzavi of Columbia Heights. He is also survived by his nieces, Mitra Monzavi and Peyton Burr, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Bryan Burr grandparents, Russell and Carol Lounsbury and Frank and Delia Geiseke.
