Domingo Garcia

Domingo Garcia, age 83, of Litchfield died on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Church of St. Philip with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a parish prayer service at 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Domingo Garcia Torres, the son of Jose Maria Garcia and Gaudalupe Torres, was born on March 28, 1927, in Saltillo Coahila, Mexico. He grew up in Mexico and received his education there. In 1977, he moved to Litchfield. He worked for Jennie-O and Green Giant. Domingo was a member of the Church of St. Philip. He enjoyed gardening, and taking care of his home. He also enjoyed learning the English language and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sisters; Josefina (and Juan) Jimenez of Litchfield and Margarita Garcia of Litchfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Inez and Euardo Garcia and sister Antolina Garcia.
