Dolores Marie Finken

Dolores M. Finken, age 94 of Watkins, MN died on February 10, 2025 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Watkins, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday February 15, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Watkins, MN. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Watkins, MN. 

Dolores Finken was born on September 10, 1930 in Richmond, MN to Peter and Catherine Weirens. Dolores graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1948 and attended St. Cloud State University (formerly St. Cloud Teacher’s College). After college she worked as a telephone operator. Dolores was united in marriage to Gilbert Finken on July 16, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN. They then resided in Watkins, MN. She was a stay-at-home mom until she started waitressing at Taste of the West Café and the Family Inn. She was member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and was active in the choir, Christian Mother’s, St. Cecile’s Circle and mission sewing. Dolores’ hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.

Dolores is survived by her children and their spouses: Tom and Barbara Finken of Watkins, Pat and Chad Weber of St. Cloud, Jim and Casey Finken of Swatera and Dan and Michelle Finken of Randall: 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert; parents and sister, Evelyn Korman, and brothers Norbert Weirens and Edwin Weirens.
