Diane May Riebe

Diane Riebe, age 67, of Litchfield died on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 on Tuesday, September 8th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the All Saints Lutheran Cemetery in Darwin. Diane May Riebe, the daughter of Clyde and Burnette (Rusch) Seller, was born on June 22, 1948, in Litchfield. She grew up in Winsted and Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High School. After high school she worked for Finger Hut and Green Giant. On July 20, 1968 she was united in marriage to Duane Riebe at All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin. They lived on Lake Stella for three years and then moved to the family farm near Darwin. When her children were young Diane worked from her home as a seamstress; a talent she learned from her grandmother. Later she worked for the Darwin Post Office for many years. After Duane died she moved to Litchfield. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed canning and cooking, If you left her home hungry it was your own fault. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and passing her talents of sewing on to them. Diane was an avid Twins Fan. She is survived by her children, Warren (and Jennifer) Riebe of Litchfield, Brenda (and Carl) Anderson of Litchfield; grandchildren, Cassandra, April, Mackenzie, Troy, MaKenzie, Alyssa and Tanner.
